The highly-anticipated Warner Bros. World will feature six immersive visitor experiences based on well-known Hollywood characters and movies.
“This is yet another milestone in the Emirate’s journey to further enrich its tourism offering,” said His Excellency Mohamed Khalifa Al Mubarak, the Chairman of Yas Island development company Miral.
“The park is another great addition to Yas Island’s experiences and award-winning attractions.”
The six themed areas of the new park are DC Comics’ Metropolis and Gotham City, as well as Cartoon Junction, Bedrock, Dynamite Gulch and Warner Bros Plaza.
The 15-hectare park features 29 state-of-the-art amusement rides, interactive family-friendly attractions and unique live entertainment.
It also provides dining and shopping outlets aligned with the park’s themes and characters.
“Delivering experiences and products that continue our brands’ storytelling and excite and engage fans is our primary goal,” said Pam Lifford, the president of Warner Bros. Consumer Products. “We look forward to sharing this world-renowned attraction with them this summer.”
The new park will be part of a promotional drive enabled by an expansion of Yas Island’s destination and trade marketing arm, Yas Experiences.
The company has been operating since January 2018 to tailor tour packages and promote the island’s attractions, operating from its Abu Dhabi headquarters and through regional offices in India, China and Europe.
The company’s General Manager Marina Cipriano says its creation will help drive the Island’s aspiration to become a global holiday destination of choice.
“We aim to facilitate the work of our travel partners by providing packages that appeal to travellers in their markets, and promotional support services that guarantee their success, all through one trade hub,” she said.
The company has appeared at roadshows and trade fairs as well as developing and implementing more than 20 joint marketing plans.
Most recently, the company played host to 50 European travel agents for a showcase weekend.
Visitors were able to take part in a preview tour of Warner Bros. World as well as visit existing theme park Ferrari World and Yas Marina Circuit, home of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
The 25-square kilometre Yas Island is the focus of Abu Dhabi’s growing tourism industry.
It is home to a number of attractions including theme parks, leisure facilities and accommodation.
The development of the Island was recognised as the world’s leading tourism development project at the World Travel Awards in 2009.
